Quetta – July 30
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Communications and Works, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, with the newly appointed Chief Engineers following recent reforms in the organizational structure of the department. The meeting was attended by Secretary C&W Lal Jan Jaffar, Chief Engineers of the six Road Building Zones, Chief Engineer Federal Projects, and other senior officials of the Communications and Works Department.

The participants were given a detailed briefing on the reforms made to the department’s structure, aimed at enhancing efficiency and aligning operations with modern standards.

Addressing the meeting, Minister Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa emphasized the critical role of the Communications and Works Department in the province's development and infrastructure improvement. He stated that the reforms were necessary to enable the department to function more effectively and accelerate the progress of development projects. These structural changes, he noted, would significantly improve project monitoring, ensure adherence to quality standards, and facilitate the timely completion of schemes.

The Minister directed all Chief Engineers to strengthen project oversight and avoid giving a free hand to any officer. He urged them to personally visit project sites whenever possible, to ensure transparency and maintain merit at all stages. “There should be no compromise on quality,” he said.

He further remarked that if the officials treat these development projects as their own personal responsibility, only then will they be successfully completed. The Minister concluded by instructing all Chief Engineers to work diligently in their new postings and meet the upcoming challenges with commitment and integrity.

"A meeting to review the progress of ongoing development projects in District Zhob was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Zhob Division, Syed Zahid Shah. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Zhob, Executive Engineer C&W Department Zhob, and other relevant officials. Executive Engineer Rashid Achakzai gave a detailed briefing on the progress of ongoing development schemes in the district. Later, the participants also visited various project sites. On this occasion, Commissioner Syed Zahid Shah directed the concerned authorities to expedite the pace of work and emphasized ensuring high standards of quality."

A Progress Review Meeting on PSDP schemes and departmental works was held today, July 29, 2025, chaired by the Chief Engineer E&M Workshop, accompanied by the Superintending Engineer E&M Circle . The Executive Engineer E&M Workshop Division Quetta provided a detailed briefing on all ongoing and completed schemes."

"An Internal Audit and Fourth Quarter Progress Review meeting was held today, July 29, 2025, with XEN Jaffarabad and his team."

After the completion of the new Women Development building under the supervision of the Communication and Works Department, the facility was officially handed over to the Women Development Department. To mark the occasion, a simple ceremony was organized by the Communication and Works Department of District Naseerabad. The event was attended by senior officials from both the Communication and Works Department and the Women Development Department of District Naseerabad.

The project under the supervision of the Project Director for Khani Cross–Ziarat–Sanjawi Road is progressing rapidly. In this regard, Project Director Asmatullah Khan visited the site to review the pace and quality of the work.

A meeting regarding the construction of the Election Commission Office Building in Quetta was held today under the chairmanship of the Honourable Election Commissioner at his office.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Qazi Abdul Haq, XEN (Buildings) Kuchlak; Mr. Talha, Architect; Mr. Peer Muhammad, SDO; and the Development Officer from the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Rapid Progress on Development Projects Under Supervision of XEN Buildings, C&W Department Kech-Turbat

Under the supervision of the Executive Engineer (XEN) Buildings, Communications & Works Department, Kech District Turbat, work on various development projects is progressing swiftly.

The XEN conducted a detailed inspection of ongoing projects to review progress and assess construction quality.

Key projects under construction include the Law College, High Court building, and Attorney’s Bungalow.

"Under the supervision of the Executive Engineer Roads, Communications and Works Department, District Ziarat, construction work on various roads is progressing rapidly."

"Under the supervision of the Executive Engineer Roads, Sariab Circle, the carpeting work on Munir Ahmed Road, Zahri Town, Sariab is progressing rapidly. In addition, Executive Engineer Roads, Sariab Circle, Mr. Habib Ahmed, along with Dr. Sohrab Marri, is inspecting the site for the construction of a new road from N-25 to N-65."
